Reasoning & Logic

Conditional inference, syllogism, argument structure.

Conditional Logic

Hold multiple rules in mind, trace the entailments, decide which facts bear on the question.

Span, retention, consolidation under interference.

Dual N-Back

Track two modalities at once — a visual position and a spoken letter — and report repetitions from N steps prior.

Forward & Backward

Repeat sequences of digits, first in order and then reversed, at lengths that climb beyond what is comfortable.

Passage Retention

Read a short passage, then answer on it immediately and again after a delay — the gap is the measurement.

Sustained vigilance, resistance to drift, time-on-task decay.

Continuous Reading

Prose scrolls at a fixed pace, probe questions interrupt without warning, and the Fellow does not choose when to attend.

Reaction, symbol substitution, and the fatigue slope under duration.

Symbol–Digit Substitution

Substitute symbols for digits, first fresh and then fatigued — the slope between the two is what the institution measures.

Tonal detection, register shifts, the reading of subtext.
